Before the beta, the user stories for each project did not include codings, such as id’s and img. I have completed Tribute page without using the required codes.
After the beta, the code elements appear in the user stories. For instance, I should see an element with a corresponding id=“title”, which contains a string (i.e. text) that describes the subject of the tribute page (e.g. “Dr. Norman Borlaug”).
The question is: Can I skip the completed project, or do I have to redo it all over?
That’s correct. We’re working to link directly to these required projects from the settings page, but for now you should be able to find them using freeCodeCamp search. Many of them are now in the Interview Prep section.
Seems that the UI was changed to seem a bit less cluttered, and I’m extremely thankful! Makes things so much easier to keep track off than initially, thank you very much for taking the feedback into consideration!
Ayyy, it’s a good time to suddenly check back in on the FCC site. This has reignited my interest in getting the certs Thanks for the continued support/contributions to everyone involved.
@QuincyLarson Hi! first of all great update. I am really happy to see all these new lessons and especially more details in already existing chapters.
I was already finished with my “Random Quote Machine” and i have taken a look into the new requirements. Do i have to change my finished projects to comply the new specific requirements in order to get the certificate in the end?
Would highly appreciate a answer
Yes, probably.
But it’s because I saw this when I try with my email: “We cannot create new user accounts with the deprecated social sign in methods. If you already have an account with us, please sign in with your email address instead.”
Then I have 0 progress. Is it possible to retrieve it?
Thanks
It’s basically the same format with a light theme. The great thing is that it’s now a PWA and there are lots of awesome new courses on the curriculum, including Functional JS, yeah! and React and Redux.
Keep using the new system and you’ll quickly forget the differences. Viva La Progress!
My primary focus in learning JS is:
declarative, functional, reactive with compositional OOP that dovetails well with the functional mindset. The new courses are a solid step towards that path.
This seems awesome! I can’t wait to get back to FCC after being off the site for a while. Are the new certis less intensive? Meaning they will require less work to finish since there are now twice as many as before.
Congratulations on shipping the new curriculum, I’ve waited for so long and it’s finally here, thank you!
For me everything works as it should it looks like it should, EXCEPT for one thing: bright theme in code editor. Please, let us set the dark theme as we were able pre-update. I have issues with my eyes and just can’t use the light theme, unfortunately, it literally hurst. As so, I’m unable to use the new FreeCodeCamp. I hope the night / dark theme is on the way.
