3D Lighting and Animation using Blender - Project: Moving the camera inside a "hole"

Hi Campers, (changed title to better reflect my problem)

WHAT I WANT TO ACHIEVE: My purpose is to move a camera into a carved place, like a hole, with objects in. At the end of the scene the focus should be on one specific object in the hole. So my problem is how to better use light and camera movement to get from outside to inside until finding the last object.

I will be sharing my advances in different projects I am working on.

In this thread I will be sharing my progress working on an animation in Blender. My main concern is how to work the lighting and the close-up of the camera.

If you know about things I should read, appreciated!

Here a simple but interesting link about the basics lighting in 3D scenes: https://dreamfarmstudios.com/blog/the-ultimate-guide-to-lighting-fundamentals-for-3d/

Another one from someone writing about his experience after a training: https://dreamfarmstudios.com/blog/the-ultimate-guide-to-lighting-fundamentals-for-3d/

I found a VERY interesting course in Udemy today: https://www.udemy.com/course/3d-lighting-theory-and-practice. Absolutely advisable!

For those more interested in animation, here a link: https://www.animationmentor.com/blog/the-ultimate-guide-to-animation-for-beginners/

I found this youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=guWMrEAqlZU which is showing crucial for what I want to achieve. This youtube channel too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7qyW1G350g. I am combining this with a couple of courses in Udemy: one by Alex Cordebard and a more complete one by the people of gamedev.tv.

EDIT: The trick is that when animating with Blender (and probably some game engines) you select the objects you want to animate and create an animation for each of them or in groups. What I didn’t get was that the camera is, indeed, another object! Lights are also objects that can be animated. Then you have a time line with different channels through which you might want to animate specific objects, similar to a video editor.

Hi Campers! Just to let you know…

Unless I have another topic I will be re-editing the posts above while progressing in my project and finding interesting info. I do that in order to keep all the relevant information about a theme in one single post. Hope this is find with you?

They are separated by the themes that concern to my project, LIGHTING and ANIMATION.

Please come back to see if any update now and then.
