A Fun Augmented Reality Game on JS: Cube-squitos (prototype, fully Web Based)

Hi Everyone,

I have been experimenting with AR recently and came up with a demo for a simple but fun game to be played with your phone:

https://evaristoc.github.io/ar_experiments/argonJS/app/demogame/

The challenge is to “freeze” the 20 blocks as fast as possible. If the sets are ok you should see that the blocks “flying around you” when you move with your phone. Like mosquitos :mosquito::mosquito:.

It is just an idea I want to explore. I might add difficulty levels later but first I want to know what people think?

It could be a nice one for someone who is sitting on a rotatory chair at office/home.

Let me know what you think?

WARNING: it might not be visible in every device, likely iOS ones.

EDIT: later I found that the idea for my project resembles this one. This is an indication that there should be many similar projects.

Just tried it on a desktop running MacOS Mojave…seemed to work fine…

Although everytime I “froze” a block, it “froze” in place and all “non-frozen” blocks were only visible in a 3d plane with a higher z-index… I hope that makes sense. That’s the best way I can describe it…in terms of CSS!

Otherwise, I think it’s a great idea. Perfect sort of game for modern life!

Thanks, @KurtBrusselSprouts! That is indeed the idea. The frozen blocks will make more difficult to freeze those that are still flying.

The game is meant to be played with your phone. It is an Augmented Reality game and if the sets are ok you should see that the blocks “flying around you” when moving with your phone. Like mosquitos :mosquito::mosquito::mosquito:
