Anyway, if you don’t agree with solid color, maybe you could make it brighter or darker (depending on your taste). So it gives impression of actions that visitor can do.

I think it looks great! The colors work with the picture. Good idea with the gradient and the box-shadows and the social media buttons also. Keep up the good work, mate.

Great first project love the gradient look. I also think you should add background for the card at the bottom because it will stand out more like a Footer.
