Welcome to the forums!

You have to put an id to your footer.

As Xynoan has said, the #Id belongs in the Footer.

If you need some further Explaination:

THE TUTORIAL ASKS US : " To Add an id attribute with a value of footer to the <footer> element at the bottom of the page."

This Phrasing is a little confusing, and seemingly redundant.. But actually, they are referring to two different things:

The <footer> tag looks like this.
<footer>

The Id Attribute of "footer " looks like this:
id = "footer".

And they are asking to have you place them together, in One <tag>:

SIMILAR TO :
<header id="header">

<footer id="[ FILL IN WITH ID]">

SUGGESTIONS:

FIRST:
DELETE THIS H2 TAG:

NEXT:
GO TO THE BOTTOM, AND FIND THE FOOTER.
THIS IS THE TAG WE WILL MODIFY:

WE MODIFY THE FOOTER TAG BY ADDING AN ID.

Between the Quotation marks, we add an id attribute with a value of footer.
It should look like:

="footer"
