Am a software Engineer with close to 3yrs of experience who got laid off end of 2023. I started applying while taking on a temp job and would really like some opinions on my resume. Could someone help?

I have asked “best resume samples for junior developer” to ChatGPT and liked the format proposed by ChatGPT.

Do check and modify accordingly, IMO your current format has got loads of information and difficult to digest at one go

Ill use that prompt on ChatGPT for templates. Also quick question, am usually advised to look for mid senior roles, what do you think is a criteria for mid senior roles?

If you could help me understand ‘current format has loads of info’, that would be great! Does it have too many sections?

I recently got a comment saying ‘It looks like you didn’t do much at Amazon’ and I would like to change that. Am trying to use only core contributions on the resume to keep it under 1 page. If you have any advice on that front, do let me know.

I suggest to copy format suggested by ChatGPT, it’s neat and clean. Easy to understand what all you’ve done over the years.

Frankly, all these things don’t matter IMO. You can add bullet points to highlight contributions instead of paragraph which is boring to read and understand.

Increase your network ( through linkedin, meetup etc )and try to get connected with recruiters / hiring managers.
