This is just an idea I’ve been kicking around for the past few days. Is anyone interested in getting together online (possibly using google hangouts) to discuss their favorite development tools? I was thinking it could be done in a presentation style with one person showing the ins and outs of the tool of their choice.It could be a monthly thing. Any thoughts?
I’m not sure if we could come up with something new every month. It might be nice to see what other tools people are using and why they preferred it. How in depth are you thinking a person should go into with each tool of their choice?
I’m thinking that if each member can give a 30 to 45 minute talk on a single tool of their choice, that’s one month’s content right there. Bear in mind, the tools covered don’t have to be cutting edge. Something as simple as a tour of the unix command line could be considered a viable topic. Factor in comments, Q & A and group interaction, and we’re looking at maybe an hour or so.
