Back to Learning Front-End Development — A Fresh Start

Greetings everyone:

Pleased to be here again.

At the beginning of 2025 (January), I started an internship and had to pause my front-end development journey. I had originally begun learning with FreeCodeCamp back in 2023.

The internship was a 24-month contract, but I completed 9 months working for a small company before deciding to resign. It’s now been a month of rest and reflection — and I’m happy to say, I’m back.

I’ve noticed some new changes since I last learned here, but I’m really glad to see that the Responsive Web Design curriculum is still available — it’s the perfect place for me to restart.

This time, my goal is to truly learn and practice, building things on my own while taking detailed notes. I’ll be starting from scratch with HTML and CSS, and creating small side projects to test how well I understand each concept.

Previously, I struggled with JavaScript — the concepts took time to register, and I experienced burnout. I realized I hadn’t practiced HTML and CSS enough to become independent; I relied too heavily on tutorials, which led to tutorial hell.

Now, I’m approaching things differently:

  • With structure

  • With patience

  • And with a strong focus on practice and understanding

I’m dedicated to the process and truly want to become a Front-End Developer.

Looking forward to learning and sharing with everyone again. :sparkles:

Welcome back! It’s awesome that you’re returning with such clear focus and reflection. That mindset alone puts you way ahead!!

Taking a break and then choosing to start again shows real persistence. The fact that you’re starting with strong HTML/CSS foundations and self built mini-projects is exactly how you’ll grow lasting confidence.

Don’t worry about the earlier burnout. It’s a sign you were pushing hard, not failing. With structure and patience, you’ll absolutely see progress this time around.
