Basic JavaScript - Record Collection

Tell us what’s happening:
I am trying to read the instructions line by line and complete them but I don’t think my knowledge is there yet with understanding how too. I wasn’t sure if I need to change the code that was already existing.

Your code so far

// Setup
const recordCollection = {
  2548: {
    albumTitle: 'Slippery When Wet',
    artist: 'Bon Jovi',
    tracks: ['Let It Rock', 'You Give Love a Bad Name']
  },
  2468: {
    albumTitle: '1999',
    artist: 'Prince',
    tracks: ['1999', 'Little Red Corvette']
  },
  1245: {
    artist: 'Robert Palmer',
    tracks: []
  },
  5439: {
    albumTitle: 'ABBA Gold'
  }
};

// Only change code below this line
if (value) {
else if (prop !== "tracks") {
    album[prop] = value;
else (prop) "album": "tracks"
album["tracks"].push(value);
}

function updateRecords(records, id, prop, value) {
  return records;
}

updateRecords(recordCollection, 5439, 'artist', 'ABBA');

Challenge: Basic JavaScript - Record Collection

Link to the challenge:

You want to add your code inside the updateRecords function, not above it.

function updateRecords(records, id, prop, value) {
if(prop !== “tracks” && value !== “”){
records[id][prop] = value;
} else if (prop === “tracks” && records [id].hasOwnProperty(“tracks”) ===false){
records[id][prop] = [value];
} else if (prop === “track” && value !== “”){
records[id][prop].push(value);
} else if (value === “”){
delete records[id][prop];
}
return records;
}
updateRecords(recordCollection, 1245, “tracks”, “Addicted to Love”);

Is it “track” or “tracks”?

oh, goodness. That was it thank you!
