my code is not executing the object properties

function checkObj(obj, checkProp) {
  // Only change code below this line
 obj= {
   gift: "pony",
    pet: "kitten",
    bed: "sleigh",
    city: "Seattle"
  }; 

if (obj.hasOwnProperty(checkProp)) {
   return object[checkProp];
 }
 return "Not Found"
  // Only change code above this line
}
