I’m only on Lesson 11 (I think that’s right).

I cannot figure out how to accomplish this task:

add an id attribute with a value of “footer” to the element at the bottom of the page.

Here’s the line I think it’s supposed to be placed:

Copyright Cat Photo App

I think this is what needs to be added but it’s obviously incorrect or the placement is incorrect:

<p id="footer"

It seems the correct code should be within an href but the instructions said only one href and I already have one that is definitely correct.

This did not print correctly!
it’s interpreting the commands rather than printing what I typed.
the link to Copyright Cat Photo App is within the footer command.
I did follow the “footer” with the closing p command

Use the button for preformatted text to show us your code. and give us a link to the challenge you’re having a problem with.

  <a href="#footer" http://freecatphotoapp.com">Jump to Bottom</a>
or does it go in this line at the end of the code?:
<footer>Copyright Cat Photo App</footer>

Here’s all the code:

I’ve accomplished all but the final instruction

I’ve edited your post for readability. When you enter a code block into the forum, precede it with a line of three backticks and follow it with a line of three backticks to make easier to read. See this post to find the backtick on your keyboard. The “preformatted text” tool in the editor (</>) will also add backticks around text.

#8

The final instruction is asking you to add an id attribute to the footer element and set that id attribute’s value to “footer”. A footer element has an opening tag and a closing tag. If you look at the challenge example, they show you which tag (opening or closing) that an attribute should be in.

#9

OK, so the instructions say to give the footer an id of footer.
So essentially you should have

<footer id="footer">...</footer>

Make sense?

Yes, I understood the purpose but was using the incorrect command. Thanks for your help!
