Benefit of college courses to supplement

Hey everyone, I had a quick question about everyone’s thoughts and experiences on taking college courses to pad a portfolio. I’ve been taking some community college courses in addition to completing the FCC curriculum and working on projects. I’m just about to start another semester where instead of the Math based courses I had been taking I decided to take a Java programming course and Database Management course.

Well it’s syllabus day and I discovered both courses are requiring pretty hefty costing text books, plus reading through the curriculum it’s all/mostly stuff that I know. Would it be beneficial to me for the job search to take these, or should I just drop the classes?

Thanks!
