Hey everyone,
I’m working on some personal iOS projects and want to test my apps on a real device without paying for an Apple Developer account. I know Xcode allows free provisioning, but the 7-day limit is a hassle.
Are there any other reliable methods for sideloading apps without constantly having to re-sign them? I’ve heard of AltStore and Sideloadly—are these still good options in 2024? Also, is there any way to automate the resigning process to avoid doing it manually every week?
Would love to hear what methods you guys are using!
You’re right—Xcode’s 7-day limit is a hassle. AltStore and Sideloadly are still solid in 2024. AltStore auto-refreshes apps if your computer is on the same network, while Sideloadly offers more flexibility but still needs resigning.
For automation, some use scripts with AltServer, and if your iOS version supports it, TrollStore allows permanent sideloading with no resigning needed.
What iOS version are you on? That’ll help find the best option!
Thanks for the info! I’m on iOS 17.2. I’ve heard about TrollStore but wasn’t sure if it works on my version—does it require a specific exploit? Also, do you have any recommendations for setting up an automated script with AltServer? Would love to streamline the process as much as possible!
Hey!
Yeah, the 7-day limit is a pain. AltStore and Sideloadly are still solid options. AltStore can auto-refresh if your computer’s on the same network, while Sideloadly gives more flexibility but still needs resigning.
For automation, you can use scripts with AltServer, or if your iOS version supports it, TrollStore lets you sideload permanently without re-signing.
What iOS version are you on? That’ll help with the best method!
