Bootstrap and adding container class to body tag

It says we need to wrap content in a wrapper that have a container class

  <title>Bootstrap Example</title>

  <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">

  <script src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/bootstrap@5.2.3/dist/js/bootstrap.bundle.min.js"></script>
</head>
<body>

<div class="container">

  <p>This part is inside a .container class.</p>
  <p>The .container class provides a responsive fixed width container.</p>
</div>

</html>

But can we add .container class directly to the body tag itself removing the need for creating an unnecessary div tag?

Like so:

Its been a while since I have last used bootstrap, and looked at the documentation. However, if the bootstrap documentation says you need a container div then its best to do what they are saying to do

Thanks do you think it has any implication for page semantics and SEO, if I these extra div.container to the page?
