Tell us what’s happening:
Apparently I submitted the generic fork page as my project URL, rather than the page I had worked on for hours. Can I get my project reset? Apparently I don’t know how to save my work. Unlike pens I’ve made, there was no '‘save’ button. What do I have to do to make sure what I do is saved

When you forked the pen, you have to save it as least once by pressing ctrl + s for the save button to appear. Apologies for your gone project.
