Build a Caesar Cipher - Step 19

Tell us what’s happening:

I am not sure what is wrong with my code, I have added the line of code that it has asked for. Have I made a typo somewhere?

Your code so far

# User Editable Region

def caesar(text, shift):
    if not isinstance(shift, int):
        if shift <1:
            return "Shift must be a positive integer."

# User Editable Region

    alphabet = 'abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz'
    shifted_alphabet = alphabet[shift:] + alphabet[:shift]
    translation_table = str.maketrans(alphabet + alphabet.upper(), shifted_alphabet + shifted_alphabet.upper())
    return text.translate(translation_table)

encrypted_text = caesar('freeCodeCamp', 3)
print(encrypted_text)

Challenge Information:

Build a Caesar Cipher - Step 19

This is the starting code for this step:

def caesar(text, shift):
    if not isinstance(shift, int):
        return 'Shift must be an integer value.'

You should add another if statement after the first if statement. You have removed the existing return statement and nested a second if statement inside the first.

Thank you for your help, I figured it out right away with your help.

Have a good day!
