Hi @bunnyprog,

Keep in mind that the point of this step is to show you that:

When you don’t specify a distance for a color, it will use the values that make sense. In this case, the first two colors will default to 0% and 7.5% because it starts at 0%, and 7.5% is half of the 15%.

So do exactly what the instructions ask to create this gradient:

Fill in .bb3 with a repeating-linear-gradient. Use 90deg for the direction, your building-color3 for the first two colors, and window-color3 at 15% for the third.

Happy coding

Tell us what’s happening:

.bb3 {
width: 10%;
height: 55%;
background-color: var(–building-color3);
background: repeating-linear-gradient(90deg,var(–building-color3) var(–building-color3)7.5%, var(–window-color3)15%);

}
but i’m getting a "you should use --building-color3 for the first two colors.

but I thought i had?? I’ve checked and triple checked some other people’s questions like this one, exact same as mine. I look on the freeCodeCamp github thing, I’ve wracked my brain.

I went ahead and combined your posts for you. In the future, just reply to the original thread to add further updates.

sorry, I forgot I’d even posted this before!

You’re missing the point. Does it say anything here about adding 7.5%?

I know you understand this, you know when you’ve been looking at a question so long it doesn’t look right but you try push through it? Thanks so much for your help. have a gorgeous day!!

I do understand. But look at you pushing through it! Glad you’re over that bump.

write only the numbers that are mentioned, so you can see the thing explained here happen:

When you don’t specify a distance for a color, it will use the values that make sense. In this case, the first two colors will default to 0% and 7.5% because it starts at 0%, and 7.5% is half of the 15%.
