Build a Customer Complaint Form - script.js button not responding

Last week I worked on this and wrote a few lines of code in script.js, but today when I go in the script.js button is not working - the html and css buttons do work fine.

I’d rather not have to reset if possible.

Please advise as I am unable to continue if I cannot open the script.js

Hi there!
The first troubleshooting step is to try another browser
Give it a go and let us know if the issue persists

I normally use Firefox. I tried Chrome and Edge - neither work

Well, can you take a screenshot or video detailing the problem?

Here is the screenshot - when I click on index.html it closes the ‘html tab’ - when I click it again it opens the ‘tab’ - when I click on styles.css it opens the ‘css tab’.

But when I click on script.js nothing happens - no ‘script tab’ opens

Please share your html and css here and give a link to the challenge

How to share code:

When you enter a code block into a forum post, please precede it with three backticks to make it easier to read.

You can also use the “preformatted text” tool in the editor (</>) to add the backticks.

See this post to find the backtick on your keyboard.
Note: Backticks (`) are not single quotes (').

script.js button works well for me

Please try one of the following steps to move forward.

Click on the “Reset” step button and force a refresh of your page with CTRL + F5 if you’re on Windows then try to paste the code in again. On other systems, please follow the instructions here.

or - Try the step in incognito or private mode.

or - Disable any/all extensions that interface with the freeCodeCamp website (such as Dark Mode, Ad Blockers, or Spellcheckers), and set your browser zoom level to 100%. Both of these factors can cause tests to fail erroneously.

or - Ensure your browser is up-to-date or try a different browser.

or - Turn off high contrast themes on Windows (from accessibility settings menu)

I hope one of these will work for you.

I have tried all of your suggestions without any success.

I also tried to go to a previous lab - and the script.js button works fine but when I return to the Customer Complaint Form the script.js button doesn’t work.

I also clicked the link you sent and logged in and went to the Customer Complaint Form module and still no joy.

I have shut my computer down and restarted it but still no joy.

Can you try it on a different device: another computer, tablet, phone?

When I try it on another computer (my wife’s) it works fine!

The problem is that it doesn’t work on my computer :frowning:
