Build a Sentence Maker - Build a Sentence Maker

Tell us what’s happening:

I have the exact same code for firstStory string and secondStory string
but for the firstStory it keeps telling me that I should use the correct story format number 14.
but for the secondStory it’s the same format and there my answer is fine

Your code so far

let adjective = "beautiful"
let noun = "girl"
let verb = "walking"
let place = "Groningen"
let adjective2 = ("red")
let noun2 = "ears"
let firstStory
firstStory = "Once upon a time, there was a(n) " + adjective + " " + noun + " who loved to eat " + noun2 + ". The " + noun + " lived in a " + place + " and had " + adjective2 + " nostrils that blew fire when it was " + verb + "."
console.log("First story: " + firstStory)
adjective = "smart"
noun = "boy"
verb = "looking"
place = "Bodegraven"
adjective2 = "blue"
noun2 = "eyes"
let secondStory
secondStory = "Once upon a time, there was a(n) " + adjective + " " + noun + " who loved to eat " + noun2 + ". The " + noun + " lived in a " + place + " and had " + adjective2 + " nostrils that blew fire when it was " + verb + "."
console.log("Second story: " + secondStory)

I would not declare the variable undefined and then assign a value.

But, the odd syntax here is your real problem.

Thanks for the quick response and the answer JermeyLT!!!

I’ve noticed a few people using this parentheses syntax, not sure where it’s coming from.

I got it form looking at like other people who where dealing with the same problem as my. So I was just trying something but I forgot to delete it afterwords

You shouldn’t copy something that you don’t understand from other users who are also unable to solve the problem.

You should READ the comments of those other threads and discover that the parentheses are causing a problem and are not the correct syntax.

Then you will understand and learn.
