Build a Storytelling App - Step 6

Tell us what’s happening:

Don’t get what I’m missing, please help, am doing exactly what Step 6 asks me but it just does not work.

Step 6 asks you to assign a variable using a querySelector, I confirmed my code is doing that by changing the element with (storyContainer.textContent = “test”:wink: but it still does not recognize my answer, pls help me figure out what I’m doing wrong.

Your code so far

let storyContainer = document.querySelector(“.story-container div”);

Challenge Information:

Build a Storytelling App - Step 6

you are asked to select the div with the class .story-container, not the div inside .story-container, do you know the difference between those two selectors?

Hi, I find the description unclear in that step. Shouldn’t it say

In your JavaScript file, select the element with the class story-container and store it in a variable called storyContainer.

instead?

Because there is no div element with class .story-container at this point
