This unrelated if/elif block prints extra output that pollutes your terminal and every test case.

Try to have one chain instead of multiple if statements. With different if blocks, multiple branches can fire in the same run. For example:

distance_mi=0 would hit both if not distance_mi: and if distance_mi<=1.

You can go through How Do Conditional Statements and Logical Operators Work? if if/else/elif block is unclear to you.
