I’m stuck on the “Build a World Cup Database” project and need help from the team, since I’ve already tried everything I can from my side.
What I did:
- Completed the project in CodeRoad (Codespaces): all tests passed, and I reached the “Tutorial Complete!” and “Congratulations on completing World Cup Database!” screens.
-
- Saved worldcup.sql, insert_data.sh and queries.sh to a public repo: GitHub - cauamor-dev/world-cup-database · GitHub
-
- Submitted the repo link on the challenge page and clicked “I’ve completed this challenge” - got “You must complete the project first.”
-
- Suspecting a stale token, I fully redid the tutorial in a brand new workspace folder in the same Codespace (kept the original /project folder untouched as backup). Same result.
-
- Then I deleted my user token (Settings > User Token > Delete my user token), generated a fresh one, and updated the CODEROAD_WEBHOOK_TOKEN Codespaces secret with the new value (repository access is correctly set to freeCodeCamp/rdb-alpha). Reloaded the Codespace, confirmed the new token is loaded in the environment, and CodeRoad again showed the tutorial as complete. Still the same “You must complete the project first.” error.
- Extra diagnostics:
-
- Clicking “I’ve completed this challenge” fires zero network requests (confirmed with dev tools), so the check seems to run against already-loaded client state rather than a live query.
-
- The CodeRoad output log only shows a generic “client connections ended” message when the tutorial completes, with no further detail about the webhook call succeeding or failing.
-
- My freeCodeCamp username is cauamor-dev (same as the GitHub repo owner).
- I’ve read the “Still no checkmark?” troubleshooting tips and similar forum threads about this exact error, but none of the suggested fixes worked for me. Could someone from the team check my account’s progress for the Build a World Cup Database challenge? Thank you!
