Building a portfolio for my friend has been a struggle

This is the first coding I have done other than the stuff that is part of the freecodecamp curriculum. I am trying to make a portfolio website for my friend and most of it is done but I am struggling with 3 things:

  1. Formatting the links at the bottom with his contact info so they don’t look like links
  2. I have tried formatting the navigation links a few times but nothing I do makes them look different. I also have no idea why navigation isn’t centered on the page.
  3. I would like to make the paragraph on the homepage the same width as the photo on computer and the same width as the device on phones but I can only get it to do one or the other.

The colors and fonts are placeholders so it is not what the final website will look like. All advice is greatly appreciated, I’ve been stuck on this for weeks and I can’t find the solutions online or in the curriculum. I’m willing to watch videos and read things if you recommend a website or creator that can help.

  1. Chose a colour for the anchor text, instead of the default colour.
  2. Try removing the width property from the nav selector.
  3. Set the width for the paragraph and image to the same value, remove any other width properties for these elements.

Happy coding

When building a portfolio for someone else, it helps to lock down the scope and layout before adjusting minor CSS details.

A quick wireframe or paper sketch saves time. Planning the sections and mobile layout beforehand prevents having to rework CSS while trying to fix spacing.

For presentation, keep the focus on the main work and clear contact details. Once the layout is solid across screen sizes, styling becomes much easier.
