Can anyone help me with this, im not understanding how to change this code

Tell us what’s happening:
Describe your issue in detail here.

  **Your code so far**

// Setup
let processed = 0;

function processArg(num) {
return (num + 3) / 5;
}

// Only change code below this line

Challenge: Assignment with a Returned Value

Link to the challenge:

Hello there.

Do you have a question?

If so, please edit your post to include it in the Tell us what’s happening section.

Learning to describe problems is hard, but it is an important part of learning how to code.

Also, the more information you give us, the more likely we are to be able to help.

it says to call the processArg function

that would be

function processArg(num) {
return (num + 3) /5;
}

and add the return value to processed
obviously what im doing is wrong
i cant figure out how to write it

That is a function definition, not a function call.

This is a function call:

ourSum = sum(5, 12);

this is what ive tried

let processed = 2

function processArg(num) {
return (num + 3) / 5;
}

That’s still not a function call. You have a function definition.

// this is a function definition
function myFunc(someArg) {
  return someArg * 2;
}

// this is a function call
let myResult = myFunc(5);

You need to add a function call below your function definition.

i just skipped i cant figure it out

This isn’t a great challenge to skip. Knowing how to call a function is critical.

What can I better explain in my example above? Is there some code you have written where you try calling your function?

i tried

let processed = processArg(7);

???

it zays that the processed should change to 2
and assign processArg to process

What is your full code? That looks close.

thanks for the help
i kept playing with it

solution was

processed = processArg(7)

i feel like a dummy now

never ever feel dummy. If you’ve made it this far and you’re here, you’re perfect and you’ll be learning everything over time. just give yourself time :heart: no matter what, keep going, never stop, even in the hardest moments
