Can't figure out what to do

Tell us what’s happening:
Hi, been stuck on this challenge for a bit… I need to add a box-shadow to a card like element. Any help would be appreciated :slight_smile: (FYI, I don’t have a lot of experience with css/html)

Your code so far

<style>
h4 {
  text-align: center;
  background-color: rgba(45, 45, 45, 0.1);
  padding: 10px;
  font-size: 27px;
}
p {
  text-align: justify;
}
.links {
  text-align: left;
  color: black;
}

.fullCard {
  width: 245px;
  border: 1px solid #ccc;
  border-radius: 5px;
  margin: 10px 5px;
  padding: 4px;
}
.cardContent {
  padding: 10px;
}
.cardText {
  margin-bottom: 30px;
}
</style>
<div class="fullCard" id="thumbnail">
<div class="cardContent">
  <div class="cardText">
    <h4>Alphabet</h4>
    <hr>
    <p><em>Google was founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were <u>Ph.D. students</u> at <strong>Stanford University</strong>.</em></p>
  </div>
  <div class="cardLinks">
    <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_Page" target="_blank" class="links">Larry Page</a><br><br>
    <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sergey_Brin" target="_blank" class="links">Sergey Brin</a>
  </div>
</div>
</div>

Challenge: Add a box-shadow to a Card-like Element

Link to the challenge:

Hello and welcome.
There is and id of thumbnail. You need to select it just like this:

#thumbnail {

}

Then apply this(which is given in the challenge guide) inside the thumbnail selector:
box-shadow: 0 10px 20px rgba(0,0,0,0.19), 0 6px 6px rgba(0,0,0,0.23);

Solution:

#thumbnail {
    box-shadow: 0 10px 20px rgba(0,0,0,0.19), 0 6px 6px rgba(0,0,0,0.23);
  }

Just copy the css and add it to the thumbnail selector. It’s an id, so the selector should be preceded by #.

Its very simple, as mentioned in above answer. its asking you to apply the box shadow defined above which is

box-shadow: 0 10px 20px rgba(0,0,0,0.19), 0 6px 6px rgba(0,0,0,0.23);

and apply it to the thumbnail element which is an id,
so id’s can be targeted by prefixing the element with a # character and don’t put any space should be written like
#thumbnail then add the code mentioned above

 #thumbnail{
    box-shadow: 0 10px 20px rgba(0,0,0,0.19), 0 6px 6px rgba(0,0,0,0.23);
  }

This code should be contained within the <style></style> tag.
if you are unclear about how box-shadow works let us know.
