Awesome Post ^_^
... He says he can't give you an estimate to how long this will take, I can.
I've been studying nights and weekends the past 3 years and I track my behavior and progress
using a stopwatch and google spreadsheets.
I'm confident anyone on FCC is as smart or smarter than me (aptitude).
Each Section has 15 or more points.
I've studied the majority of this stuff already.
Each point will take
50-200 hours of study.
15*4 = 60 points to study.
60 points * 50hours of study = 3,000 hours to complete.
So, If you're as smart as Albert Einstein or smarter it'll take you
about 3,000 hours to get through all this.
If you're as smart as me it'll take about 9,000 hours
ergo if you study 10 hours a day it'll take 900 days e.g. 2.5 ish years. So it's doable.
If you study 3 hours a day it'll take 7.5 years
I was in The Navy and scored a 90/99 on the ASVAB. I also finished 80 / 140 units of my undergraduate degree in Computer Science.
And the cold, hard, truth is I've forgot much of what I've spent thousands of hours studying.
so the same may happen to you. Also I'm still unemployed.
I've clocked in 2,500+ hours of studying from 2013-2016 and have an overwhelming amount of data I sift through which is how I've came to these conclusions.
So if anyone was wanting a really ballpark rough estimate of how long this stuff takes to learn, there you go ^_^
If you're like me you will have to go crazy for a while. The words sacrifice and discipline will have a whole new meaning. Anyone who has started this journy I'm sure can relate. Here is an old video of me from my "pre-programmer days" I'm diffently not that guy anymore.
