That really is the first step of the guide. I agree, someone with zero background in programming will have a hard time getting through all 6 books as the first step. I'm ok with that. The books actually take the time to explain all new concepts and the explanations are in depth and thorough. Yeah, they'll be a rough read if you have literally zero background ... rough, but not impossible. Rough, but worth it.
I won't do that though, it would just be adding time wasters into a guide that is meant to embrace brevity and efficiency. YDKJS isn't too hard. It may be a tough read if literally everything is new, but it's worth it. Even if you know nothing -- if you are thinking "this is hard" -- yeah, it's hard, buck up camper, it's not "too" hard.
