Correct CSS Not Accepted

The lesson wants me to create a new class that will make the background of my div element silver using background-color.
I created the class and put it where it needed to be, and the div element clearly has a silver background. Why isn’t it correct? I even watched the video and my code is practically identical.

<link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Lobster" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">

<style>
.red-text {
  color: red;
}

h2 {
  font-family: Lobster, monospace;
}

p {
  font-size: 16px;
  font-family: monospace;
}

.thick-green-border {
  border-color: green;
  border-width: 10px;
  border-style: solid;
  border-radius: 50%;
}

.smaller-image {
  width: 100px;
}

.silver-background {
  background-color: silver;
}
</style>

<h2 class="red-text">CatPhotoApp</h2>
<main>
<p class="red-text">Click here to view more <a href="#">cat photos</a>.</p>

<a href="#"><img class="smaller-image thick-green-border" src="https://bit.ly/fcc-relaxing-cat" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back."></a>

<div class="silver-background">
  <p>Things cats love:</p>
  <ul>
    <li>cat nip</li>
