Custom CSS Variables

Hi,

Could someone please help me with a solution to this exercise? I have tried every possible way but it keeps getting a failed response.

I am sure that I am doing something stupid here. I need to know where.

A detailed answer with codes would be highly appreciated, please.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Tenzin

Challenge: Create a custom CSS Variable

Link to the challenge:

Read the instructions carefully. They say
To create a CSS variable, you just need to give it a name with two hyphens in front of it and assign it a value
and then give you an example.

Your code does not follow the example. If it did, the test will pass.

Aaah!

Thank you so much for letting me know where my stupidity lied on that exercise.

I’ve just completed it successfully.

I appreciate your prompt response to my request. Thank you again.

Kind regards,
Tenzin

I did the following:

.penguin { --penguin-skin: gray; }

If it helps, the problem is within the above block of code.

When I looked at the lesson you mentioned, I noticed that the instructions for that particular lesson doesn’t show you an example of a css variable in the instructions or in the code. It might help to look at the previous lesson and compare how the pre-made variables there compare to the one you are trying to create now.
