Debug an ISBN Validator - Debug an ISBN Validator

Tell us what’s happening:

If enter a valid ISBN, it still prints: Invalid Isbn. I think that the problem is on line 7. How to access the check digit from the isbn?

Welcome to the forum @theearg15,

From the instructions:

  • The check digit for ISBN-10 codes can be a number from 0 to 9 or an uppercase letter X.

Example inputs for valid ISBN-10 codes: 1530051126,10 9971502100,10 080442957X,10

And this test:

When the user enters 080442957X,10, you should see the message Valid ISBN Code.

I agree that Line 7 is an issue. Based on the above, if X can be a check digit, what do you think the check digit is? And should the check digit be included in main_digits?

Happy coding

Hi theearg15. I did this lab couple of hour. Check what type of data main_digits is, at which index this data starts, and how it is sliced.
