I know it’s a bad markup practice to not close paired tags but can someone please tell me why the browser is showing different behavior for a closing
In the not closed example, because the ul is never closed it takes the other ul and the other list items, and it nests them. It doesnt know where to stop the lists, so it will keep adding them inside of each other
When you do close the ul tag the browser knows where the end of one of your lists is and where the others begins.
ok so basically closing tag works as a period for browser.
