A few days ago, I brought a laptop in order to complete the full-stack certification and I was struggling to access this website on my mobile device. I downloaded VS code and I’m still getting used to using Windows and I feel silly and embarrassed because I’m learning to use my own machine. I’m starting over again all the certification, even though I stopped in my fronted development libraries, just because I didn’t have a PC and I’m having the privilege of owing my PC! Do I need a powerful computer?
you do not need a powerful computer, the curriculum is not resource intensive, and if you ever need to work on a resource intensive project, there are workarounds
Hello!
You’ll need power for graphic intense workloads like CAD and video editing.
Also for machine learning tasks, when your models ingest tons of data for training.
For everything else just enough RAM (At least 8 GB, I’m using at least 16 GB) and an Intel i5 or AMD Ryzen 5 should do the work, even in a professional setup.
@ILM my laptop has 4gb of ram, and it run vs code and some extensions really well. I was struggling to access this site with my phone. Desktop computers are more powerful and cheaper, I’m considering getting one maybe in the future, but for my learning I’m currently use a modest laptop.
for the site, if you want to use it on mobile the best thing you can use is the app, the site itself has some difficulties with a touch screen
You can get away with a simple Chromebook and using the inspect function as a development environment.
