Error on HTML and HTML5 Lesson 10

It appears there is an error in the lesson coding; Link to Internal Pages with Anchor Elements. Maybe I’m doing it wrong… but the help video doesn’t work as well. The other help option wasn’t helpful either.

Post your code, what have you tried?

As follows

<h2>CatPhotoApp</h2>

<h2 id="footer">Copyright Cat Photo App</h2>

You should have a footer with the id of "footer", but you have a h2 element instead.

Use footer tag instead of h2

for some reason your footer element in now an h2

Like this?

<footer><id="footer">Copyright Cat Photo App</footer>

Look at the example in the instructions about how they added an id attribute to the <h2>. This should give you an idea of how to add it to the <footer>.

<footer id="footer">Copyright Cat Photo App</footer>

Figured it out… I’m an idiot.
I was a bit confused with the wording.

No, you are just learning, which is perfectly acceptable, we’ve all done the same thing when we were just starting out.

A piece of advice though. The challenges have been around for a long time and have been tested by a lot of users over the years, so if you are running into a problem there is a good chance the error is on your end. So I would recommend instead of leading with a statement like “It appears there is an error in the lesson coding” you instead ask a question like “I believe I’m doing this correctly but yet it’s not passing, can anyone help me see where the issue is?” That sort of approach will go over a lot easier.
