I cannot seem to find the source of the formatting error that is adding all this blank space to my website. I want the main content to take up 70% of the page in the middle but it stretches to the sides and adds a whole page worth of blank scrolling at the top. I have very little html experience. How do I upload my code so you can see what the problem is?

Code can be shared multiple ways. One way is to create a GitHub repository with your code in it and share a link to it.
Another way is to use a site called pastebin
Or codepen.io
Just to reiterate. We would not be able to tell you what to fix as that is not what we are here for. We are here to help people who are learning to code. So that would mean we would expect some discussion with you about what you have tried or looked into (in detail) and what the results of your efforts were.

I have tried taking out and changing many of the style variables and scanned all over for random other errors that could be causing it but I have an extremely limited understanding of coding and cannot locate the error, have tried many different support forums for similar issues to no avail.
