Hello everyone. Turning 43 years old in a few months. Luckily, I look like I’m in my 30’s.
I work a warehouse job right now. I have made too many mistakes in my past and I want to change things for the better. I attended two for-profit schools in the past and found they were scam schools. Luckily, I could tell and did not graduate. Did 6 months of the schools. ITT Tech and Stevens Henager College.
I have an amazing wife who works full-time and two amazing kids. I still need to work. Wife does not make enough.
I do not have any programming experience whatsoever. I know of the various programming languages. JavaScript, C#, C++, Swift, Python, etc. I mean, I have heard of them but have never started to code.
Is FreeCodeCamp a good place to start for myself or start with The Odin Project?
I just want to focus on one learning platform. I have to do learn something online and free. I can pay for something later on.
I just want a better life for my wife and kids. They’re my motivation. I don’t mind studying long hours, either.
Don’t worry, you’re not only 1 who did mistakes in 20s, 30s. I’m 44 and as well did loads of mistakes. But we need to make sure that we don’t repeat those mistakes again.
Having a good mentor/s and friend/s is very important in all phases of human life. Some have it and some don’t.
There are loads of jobs opportunities in IT rest of century and not as many skilled labour.
Which country do you stay ?
If you’ve budget I suggest join some good quality local bootcamp, where you get to learn 12+ hours each day and mingle with like minded passionate people.
Goto YT and search for “jobs in IT industry”.

All the very best and let me know if you’ve further queries.
I’ve shared with others few times but doing it again, do bookmark and watch it frequently whenever you feel depressed or low in life
