I have filled in the text but when i run it, nothing happens. After reading the hint and also watching the video i cannot figure out where I have gone wrong, if infact, i have.

If you try to change browser (preferably try google chrome, or, if you are using that, Firefox), does the tests give a result?
i will download another browser now. But at the moment no, when I run the test it doesnt return a result.
Just to be clear the paragraph element should have the text Hello Paragraph in it. But it sounds like your having an issue with actually running the test.
FreeCodeCamp use new technologies, that means that a lot of browsers can have issues with it. Usual advices are: clear cache, try a private session, change browser
