Filter Method to Extract Data from an Array

Tell us what’s happening:
I cannot figure out what is wrong with this code, when i log mappedList it gives expected results but filteredList always gives an array with length zero.

You are filtering the mappedList which contains object with title and rating props only, not imdbRating.

By the way, the map function is intended for creating a new array without side effects, it returns an array, so you may want to change it, and chain the two operations

@oussamaelarbaoui Sir, I tried to link map and filter functions but this is giving elem as undefined. Kindly help, this is my code

var filteredList =[];

filteredList = watchList.map( obj => { filteredList.push({ title: obj['Title'], rating: obj['imdbRating'] } ); })
                        .filter( elem => parseFloat(elem['rating']) >= 8.0);

the map function should return a value, not pushing to an outside variable

like this :

var filteredList = watchList
                    .map((item) => {
                      return {title: item.Title, rating: item.imdbRating}
                    })
                    .filter ((item) => parseFloat(item.rating) >= 8.0);
