I am a full stack developer with 7 years of experience and working as a Software Engineer. I have a backend knowledge in c# and sql server and in React JS, Typescript. I feel I am now struck in a redundant work. I am not sure whether to move towards a Senior Software Engineer role or move into the management side. If I need to move into a more senior role as a software engineer, should I do some certification or courses? If I need to move into the management side for roles, what should I work towards?
I’d ask yourself if you want to become a “more senior” role, or head toward a manager position.
Regardless of which route you’d take, I’d see if your current job could help accommodate you as you seek to grow. If they can, then great, I’m sure they have the resources to help invest back into you as you already have pre-existing knowledge and experience, and are already in the org compared to a new hire.
If they cannot help you grow in the direction you want to, then there is always other jobs that might be willing to take you for such positions.
Ultimately what you do is up to you and your wants and needs, and you can decide which path to take from there.
Good luck, keep learning, keep building
