I’m confused why this code doesn’t work:

In this challenge: https://learn.freecodecamp.org/javascript-algorithms-and-data-structures/functional-programming/use-the-filter-method-to-extract-data-from-an-array/

Why?

Note: I wasn’t able to make the usual form of Ask-for-help because it seems that the code is too big, I guess.

#3

Which part are you asking why about? The instructions or your code?

#4

I mean my code. Why it doesn’t work?

#5

When you use arrow funtion syntax and then use { } for part of your function, you can not put a literal object inside those { }. Instead, you must surround the literal object (which already contains { }) instead plain parentheses ( { } ).

If you still want to use the { } in the arrow function, then you would need to use the return statement like you did for the filter.

#6

But that what I am doing right now. I surround the object with {} after I surround it with whole {} for the function.

#7

Let me give you an example.

Let’s say you want to return the literal object {myProperty1: ‘val1’, myProperty2: ‘val2’} inside an arrow function. You can either write it as:

const arrowFunction = () => {
  return  {myProperty1: 'val1', myProperty2: 'val2'};
};

OR

const arrowFunction = () => ({myProperty1: 'val1', myProperty2: 'val2'});

#8

Oh, thank you for the help! I solved it.
