Geolocation without requiring https

I’ve done geolocation successfully before so I feel like I have a good handle on navigator.geolocation. The question I have it about security. From my understanding after Chrome 50 (and most modern browsers) navigator.geolocation only works on https. Codepen.io is http and I can’t get it geolocation to work on it. Any alternatives/ideas?

You could just run it over HTTPS
