Golf Code..what is par and strokes please explain

Tell us what’s happening:
the code below is just copy pasted .please explain question more to those who don’t no about golf.I what is par ? I am assuming par are number of attempts made for scoring one stoke.

The meanings of “par” and “strokes” in golf doesn’t really matter for completing this challenge. The description tells you everything that you need to know.

If you’re curious though, “strokes” is the number of times you hit the ball. “Par” is the number of strokes it’s expected to take to get the ball in the hole (the average?)
