The test text is misleading. The problem isn’t that you have too many anchor elements, it’s that you never closed the one that you created. You started it:

<a href="#footer">jump to bottom

Where is the closing tag? It needs a </a> tag to know where the text for the anchor ends.

When I make this change, the code passes the challenge.

Thanks so much! I think I deleted it when trying to solve a problem. Very grateful, now can move on.
