Having issues with equality operator challenge

Question is:
Add the equality operator to the indicated line so that the function will return the string Equal when val is equivalent to 12 .

My respond/code is shown below:

// Setup
function testEqual(val) {
if (val == 12) {
// Change this line
return “Equal”;
}
return “Not equal”;
}
// Change this value to test
testEqual(10);

This Exercise looks cheap but not running. I have checked from my side and level. For me, it should run. no mistake found. no error seen, but it still shows me at the righthand side that the below msg :

testEqual(10) should return the string Not Equal

HI @Okuku-One !

I moved your post over here.
When asking questions on the forum, it is best to create your own post instead of posting under someone else’s post.
It creates less confusion that way.

As for the challenge, it would help to have the link to the challenge you are working on.

At first glance, it looks like this might be the issue.

These are the wrong types of quotes.
You need to turn smart quotes off on your device.

Programming uses straight quotes like these ""

Hope that helps!

I’ve edited your post for readability. When you enter a code block into a forum post, please precede it with a separate line of three backticks and follow it with a separate line of three backticks to make it easier to read.

You can also use the “preformatted text” tool in the editor (</>) to add backticks around text.

See this post to find the backtick on your keyboard.
Note: Backticks (`) are not single quotes (’).
