Hey there.
I’m trying to improve my coding habits and take better care of my health (posture, fatigue, etc)
Just wanted to ask:
→ How do you organize your coding sessions?
→ Do you have routines, stretches, tools or tips to manage posture and health while coding??
See ya.
Thanks in advance!
Most of what you’re asking really depends on the individual. We’re all wired differently, both mentally and physically. When I was younger I didn’t need to worry about posture, and I could stay up all night learning things. Now that I’m older, I do have to pay attention to my posture, and I don’t have nearly the stamina that I used to. So for me, the later in the day, the tougher it is for me to learn new concepts, especially theoretical concepts. So I try to learn new lessons in the morning and early afternoon, and then work on applying them later in the day. That maximizes my abilities. But that’s just how I am built right now, and that may change as I get older.
So really, it’s more a matter of just maintaining self-reflection and paying attention. Pay attention to when learning is easier and when it’s harder. Pay attention to whether you need total peace and quiet or if having music or some kind of background noise helps. As far as posture and stretching and all that, just do whatever has traditionally been healthy and right for you and just get up and move around every little bit. From what I’ve read, there is no best posture per se, the real thing to do is adjust your position. Holding one posture for too long, even if it’s a “good” posture is the real thing you want to avoid.
Good luck and happy coding

My advice would be not too sit in front of your computer for long periods of time. Take a break every 1-2 hours.
