I am 35 yo and I am about to becone a chemical engenieer but I feel kinda lost. I have been thinking of starting a career in data science by doing a coursera course “Data Analyst Google Certificate”. Any advice? Thank you
I got really scared of looking at the amount of information that is available nowadays.
After all of the education and exams needed to become an chemical engineer, what makes you change your mind about that career which you think won’t be a problem in a career as an analyst?
Do you enjoy math and statistics? Data Science is another fancy word for ‘statistics’.
You r right. I would like to add some tools to me CV such as advanced Excel or python.
I enjoy math in general
But do you have a lot of experience with statistics?
It will be your supper power if you will know data analysis and have chemistry engineering knowledge.
I recommend to start a simple project and try to analyze some open chemical data ( if you still interested in chemistry). For example https://www.kaggle.com/.
I started to learn HTML building my home page 20 years ago
