Help with Build a Product Landing Page

I am outlining my site trying to get all the prerequisites to work before I start designing it but I cannot get story number 12 ( When I click the #submit element, the email is submitted to a static page) to pass validation. I have not one iota why the code is not working. I did not want to post this, I like figuring out things on my own, but at this rate it will take the rest of my natural life to solve the problem. I think it’s a non issue. It happens to me and it happens on their sample/reference page. It shouldn’t be preventing any of the tests from passing.
