I came to ask on this forum in hopes of more additional tips on how to make the most out of FreeCodeCamp’s project challenges like the “Learn Accessibility by Building a Quiz. e.g.”
Hi @sbig8643
Before starting any project, read the descriptions of all the projects, including the certification projects.
Write down a summary of what you will learn from the practice projects.
Write down what is required from the certification projects.
Review both lists on a regular basis.
Spent about an hour each day learning to code, and aim to do about ten steps of each project. Pace yourself when learning:
- you will learn a small amount, but
- you are more likely to retain what you learnt
Many people on the forum talk about forgetting most or everything they learnt.
Summarise and review the material you learnt. Make this the last thing you do each day. Go over everything at the end of each week.
Once in a while take a break from coding.
Create mini projects for yourself, applying what you learnt.
Try and combine different elements, or find different ways of doing something.
Realise that at times you will get really frustrated. This is completely normal.
When you’ve learnt more, go back over past projects and see if you can improve them.
Happy coding
