I need help, why is my navbar sticking to my first “scroll-page” when I add top-margin? I’ve been stressing over this for far too long.
EDIT: explanation if unclear. My scrollpage1 id content needs a margin-top to stay away from the navbar, but when I give it a margin-top, the navbar sticks with it. Also, why doesn’t my navbar stay at the top of the page? Please help.

First off, you write a complete page with no media queries. Then you decide when the page gets to a certain width which change do you need to make and then put only the needed changes in the @media (max-width: 600px). @media (max-width: 600px) is written only once in the file.

To use ‘z-index’ you first must use position.

No such thing as float:top;

You don’t understand float or position these are two different things. Review both.

These things will get your problem solved.

I don’t understand what’s wrong with the media query?
