Hello everyone, I am here asking for help, I am mechanich engineering student and i always loved to program but I have never know where to start. I need to learn Matlab programming so i dont know what else could be the best thing to start with that help me in my career and after that continuing learning as much as I can ( I am 29 yo i started so late the uni and this make me feel down, but well that´s life)
In terms of learning MATLAB. The best place to start is the official platform (if you have a license), as there are plenty of courses from beginner to advanced.
But, as mentioned, you could start with another programming language you can run on your machine, as the skills are transferable. The Data Science packages (matplotlib, numpy, pandas) commonly used with Python are similar to MATLAB.
Well we are somewhat in a similar boat … I’m 31 but finishing up my CS BS degree this winter. Nevertheless, I can tell you that I have seen people as old as 45 at our university so it is never too old to start.
Next up, it depends what you want to do in tech, do some research to see what you would like to get into too, and see yourself doing for LONG periods of time. Web dev, SWE, A.I., ML? Get into something you are passionate about!
Lastly, stick to one programming language and master it. You want to understand the concepts, and when you do… this will carry over to any other programming language with ease. From my experience if you start with something like Java or C++, everything else from there is relatively easy to pick up. Though you don’t have to go this route but thats just my op. Nevertheless, FCC has that python section added and it looks promising you should look into it.
