I can't change my e-mail on my account

I originally used my google account to login. Then I was away for a while. I came back to login and used my email which created a new account with none of my progress. So I deleted the account associated with my email. I logged in using my google account which still had my progress on record. I went to my account settings to change my e-mail and it says the email is associated with another account.

I had already deleted that account. How can I change my email to the correct one.?

You may need to contact support@freecodecamp.org. Please watch your spam filter (freeCodeCamp emails seem to end up there a lot) and try to be patient (there are only a couple people who can dig into user accounts and they may be spending the holidays with their families).
